Jig hooks and jig heads
Hooks whose shank bends at the eye so a head can be poured on: the bare jig hook, and weighted jig heads for soft plastics classified by head shape and build (ball in four builds, strolling jigs by mechanism, football, swing, stand-up, Ned in four builds, shaky, darter, swimbait, underspin, tube, weedless, grass), because each fishes differently; and the skirted jig itself, by head shape (casting, flipping, football, swim, finesse, punch).

Choosing hooks
Straight or offset, fine or heavy wire (with a formula), the wire for your line and rod, hook size for each soft bait, every way to hook a drop shot, and hook eyes: which way they face and at what angle.
Offset hooks
Offset-shank hooks, round-bend and Z-bend alike, read by GAP first (narrow, wide, extra-wide EWG), then unweighted or weighted, then fine or heavy-duty wire; bladed hooks for search baits; TwistLock and Permalock keepers.

Straight-shank hooks
The shank runs straight from the eye to the bend. One of the two big hook families: Aberdeen, straight worm, flipping and punching, drop-shot, octopus, circle, wacky and Neko hooks.
Trebles, doubles and special hooks
Hooks outside the two soft-bait families: trebles on hard baits, doubles on metal vibes and frogs, hooks with a swivel (and the ways it is attached), and floating hooks.
