Are muskie territorial?
Not in the strict sense, and honesty matters here: muskie are solitary apex predators with strong site fidelity, which looks like territoriality but is not defended territory. Home ranges of neighboring fish overlap freely, several big fish may hold on one prime bar within casting distance of each other, and no one patrols a border. What produces the "one boss fish per spot" impression is simple economics — prime ambush real estate is scarce, and the biggest fish get first claim on the best lies. Practically the distinction is good news: pulling one giant off a spot does not empty it, and the best spots refill.
