What is "slow twitch" and when do I use it?
Continuous, tiny rod-tip pulls with no real pause — the bait never stops, it rocks and shakes its head side to side a few centimetres at a time. Use it on calm clear water, after a cold front, on pressured fish, over grass (where a rip buries the hooks) and with micro baits. It needs a moderate-fast tip that flexes on a 2-3 cm pull, a slow reel (6.2-6.8:1 or a 2500 spinning) and a loop knot — a Palomar tied tight kills the head shake.
