Can I fish a jerkbait in grass at all?
Over grass, yes; in it, no. Pick a model that runs just above the tops (a shallow runner or floater), slow-twitch or soft twitch-pause — never rip — and when it loads, ease it free and let it float up. Standard-wire trebles, never light wire: a fish that turns into the weeds opens a fine hook, and jerkbaits are not sold with heavy-wire trebles, so standard is the ceiling.
