Do perch schools reuse the same spots year after year?

The spots repeat; the fish just visit rather than live there. A perch school owns no home range the way a largemouth owns a dock, but its grazing circuits are chained to food-rich bottom — and shell beds, gravel bars, river-mouth spawning bays, and basin mud flats do not move. So last winter's waypoint on a 9 m (30 ft) shell bed is an excellent bet this winter, not because "the school remembers" but because the groceries are still there. Save waypoints on bottom types and contours, not on where a school happened to be at 10 a.m.; expect fish to be somewhere along the circuit, and hunt the segment.
