Standard Texas Rig: What it is
The rig everyone learns first: a 1/4-3/8 oz (7-10.5 g) bullet weight, a round-bend offset worm hook through a 5-7 in (13-18 cm) ribbon- or straight-tail worm (or a wide-gap EWG offset hook for a compact creature), fished on a medium-heavy casting rod with 15-17 lb fluorocarbon. Nothing about it is specialised, which is exactly why it does almost everything adequately.
