Do bass lures — spinnerbaits, Texas rigs, big swimbaits — catch walleye?

Sometimes, and the exceptions teach where walleye really live. Walleye that live in weeds — common in shallow, stained, fertile lakes — hit spinnerbaits and bladed jigs meant for bass and pike, and a soft plastic rigged weedless can be pitched into cabbage or flooded timber where an open jig hook fouls at once. These are niche answers to a cover problem, not everyday choices. Oversized baits are rarer still: muskie anglers hook a few big walleye each fall on large crankbaits and rubber, which shows that trophy fish eat bigger prey than most walleye lures imitate — by October they want 10–15 cm (4–6 in) offerings — but nobody targets walleye with a glide bait. If you want a bigger bite, upsize the minnowbait, not the category.
