Hard baits: Deep-diving jerkbaits

A suspending or slow-floating jerkbait fitted with an elongated diving bill (+1, +2, MR, or DD) engineered to pull the minnow down to 2.5–5 m (8–16 ft) and hang it right in front of offshore fish suspended off ledges, bluff ends, submerged brush piles, and deep bait balls where shallow jerkbaits pass harmlessly overhead.
