Why do wind-blown points and reefs turn on for smallmouth?
Wind can change light, mixing and where prey collects, making a windward rock feature worth testing. Strength, duration, water temperature and resulting turbidity matter. Too much chop or a cold muddy inflow can undo the benefit. Check sheltered sides of individual rocks as well as the larger windward shoreline.
