Do color and flash matter on ice jigs?

They matter, because perch are strictly visual daytime feeders and under ice the light is dim and blue-shifted — but they matter less than depth, size, and cadence. In deep or stained water, glow and UV finishes plus a little flash extend the distance a jig can be seen; in clear shallow water under bright sun, natural and muted finishes draw fewer refusals from fish that inspect at close range. Get on the right school at the right depth first — color is the last dial, not the first.
