Do white, glow or UV finishes matter on muskie baits?
White earns its place: a white bucktail or white rubber bait is a bright, high-contrast target against dark water and weeds by day, reads as a pale cisco in clear lakes, and stays visible late into the evening — many guides switch from white to black only when the light is nearly gone. Glow paint is a different story. The established night programme for muskie is a black silhouette with heavy thump, tracked by lateral line and outline; glow finishes are not part of mainstream practice and nothing shows they help. UV-reactive paint is simply unproven for this fish — whether an adult muskie sees ultraviolet at all has not been established. Buy white with confidence; buy glow and UV only if you like them.
