Drop shot wacky
Un drop shot finesse montado con un anzuelo wacky en lugar del pequeño anzuelo de nariz: abertura más ancha, alambre más grueso, el gusano clavado por el medio, para clavar mejor con el mismo montaje.

El drop shot wacky cambia una sola cosa del drop shot finesse: el anzuelo. En lugar del pequeño anzuelo de nariz de alambre fino (n.º 1–2) usa un anzuelo wacky, de caña corta, abertura ancha y alambre más grueso, y el gusano se clava una vez por el medio, o con una anilla, para que los dos extremos tiemblen libres.
La razón es la tasa de clavado. Un gusano clavado por la nariz en un anzuelo pequeño ofrece al pez una lámina fina de plástico; la abertura ancha del wacky libra el cuerpo del gusano y su alambre más grueso aguanta un pez grande sin abrirse. El coste: algo menos de acción y de sutileza, el gusano se dobla y aletea, y el anzuelo más pesado pide línea algo más fuerte. Es el drop shot al que se cambia cuando hay picadas que no se clavan, cuando los peces son más grandes o cuando un stick bait de 13–15 cm sustituye al gusano finesse de 10 cm.
Se pesca igual: lanza o baja hasta el pez, deja posar el plomo, sacude la línea floja para que tiemblen los dos extremos y mantén quieto. Va bien en roca, grava y hierba rala; la punta expuesta se engancha más en madera, allí usa un wacky con antihierba o vuelve al anzuelo de nariz.
