Current Seam: Specific holding positions
Soft side near the food line and flanks of cover
Fish often have energy-saving holding spots, but will also push into fast water to intercept. First check overlaps of rocks, grass tips, or breaks along the seam’s edge, then check the layer under the seam. Without obvious cover, the location of baitfish concentration matters more.
Example: Main flow 10 feet deep, soft-side shelf 6 feet. Send a soft swimbait to the upstream part of the seam first and observe how it offsets between two flow speeds; if bites occur the instant it enters the soft side, repeat that transition rather than simply lengthening the drift in fast water.

Current Seam
A distinct or subtle boundary where fast and slow currents meet. It’s a natural feeding corridor that lets bass lie in wait and intercept food with minimal energy expenditure.
