Brush Pile: Specific fish holding positions
Test the pile top, the sides, and the bottom edge in turn
Active fish may be outside or above the pile; cautious fish may relate to thicker limbs but aren’t necessarily in the tightest core. First run a controllable soft bait along the top edge, then let a Texas fall on the outside, and finally work any clearly defined entry points.
Example: bottom at 15 ft, pile top at 10 ft. If targets are in the 9–11 ft layer, don’t send every bait straight to the bottom. If bites come as the bait falls away from the branches after clearing the edge, just repeat the outer edge—no need to go heavier into the center.

Dense tangles of branches—whether naturally accumulated or man-made sinkings—can congregate baitfish and bass in otherwise barren areas.
