Strolling Minnow: Where it shines

Suspended fish — the hardest bass to catch on bottom-bound rigs. Cold water from late fall through spring, deep clear lakes, and any time forward-facing sonar shows fish hanging mid-column: strolling keeps a natural minnow in the strike zone for minutes at a time with zero unnatural rod action. Smallmouth are the classic target, but suspended largemouth over timber and herring-lake spotted bass eat it just as well. It is the horizontal sibling of the hover (Damiki) rig — hover holds vertical on one fish, strolling covers a whole school line.
