Turnover: How to fish it

Compare fish, forage and clarity in affected and nearby stable areas; use local oxygen information when available. Do not rank “main lake last, sheltered bay first” as a universal rule or infer oxygen solely from colour or smell. A fixed number of days cannot promise the next bite.

Turnover

Autumn cooling and wind can erode stratification and mix a lake. Timing and extent depend on depth, exposure and previous thermal conditions. Not every waterbody stratifies strongly, and different basins need not mix together.
