Hollow-body frog
A floating hollow shell on an upturned double hook, walked and paused over mats and pads where nothing else can go — the topwater for the thickest cover.
Soft plastics are the biggest family in bass fishing: 36 shapes, each designed for a rig, a depth and a mood.
- Shape = design purpose: fish, worm, craw, creature, tube, frog
- Finesse tier vs power tier: the same shape at 3.5 in and 7 in is two different techniques
- Tail type decides the action; body decides the fall
- Rig it the way it was designed to be rigged
- What it is — A hollow soft body with silicone-strand legs and a double hook whose points sit against the back. It floats on the canopy and collapses on the bite.
- Designed for — Matted grass, pads, duckweed and wood in summer and fall; walked across open water too. The biggest-fish topwater in largemouth water.
- Trade-offs — Missed strikes are part of it — wait for the weight before you set. Heavy rod and 50-65 lb braid, no exceptions.
