Wire baits: Spinnerbaits

A safety-pin wire: head, skirt and hook on the lower arm, blades on the upper arm. The upper arm deflects wood and grass off the hook point, so it comes through cover that would stop a crankbait.

Bump it into cover on purpose: the deflection off a stump draws more strikes than a clean retrieve.
