Does braided line spook largemouth?
Braid is the most visible line type, so in clear, calm water on slow bottom presentations it can cost you bites — that is exactly where a fluorocarbon leader pays. But in the situations braid was made for — punching mats, frogging, ripping baits out of grass — the bass is looking up at a silhouette against the bright surface or homing in with its lateral line, and the line simply is not part of the picture. Largemouth in heavy cover are the least line-critical bass you will ever fish for.
