Gill-type flat baits: What it is
A soft bait shaped like a bluegill / sunfish seen from the side: deep and flat, a short tail or none, often with a keeled belly and a thin rear fin. Sizes run from 3 in finesse (Gil Flat Jr., Bull Flat 3 in) to 4-5 in power (Bull Flat, Huddle Gill, Stagger Wide) and 6-8 in magnum swimbaits. Popular families: Deps Bull Flat, issei Gil Flat, Imakatsu Huddle Gill, Hideup Stagger Wide, and the many US bluegill-profile baits (Berkley PowerBait Gilly, Strike King Rage Swimmer Gill-type bodies, LIVETARGET Sunfish, Savage Gear Pulse Tail Bluegill, 6th Sense Divine Gill).
Gill-type flat baits
A wide, flat, deep-bodied bluegill profile with almost no tail: the body itself rocks and glides on the fall, and it swims with a wide roll on a jighead.
